"I'll follow you into the sun"
arirang: tour pin - designed 2026:
Inspired by my experience at the ARIRANG concert (went to Vegas D1 &2!)! I wanted to include bits & pieces of things that I loved & noticed during the concert, the stage & the experience. Which is divided into several parts:
1) The stage: 360 stage w/ 3 rotating rings - I knew the main shape had to be a circle again
2) The inky calligraphy on the screens & traditional instrumentals playing pre-concert - honestly one of my favorite aesthetics, incorporated it onto the screenprint!
3) The concept of arirang & how it symbolized homecoming, resilience & a cultural deep dive around heritage: from the mugunghwa flower (national flower of korea) as part of the VIP merch, to including the arirang sample in body to body - I knew I wanted to incorporate the prevalent themes in the deisgn
4) The importance of 7 - all of their 7 tattoos are located in such a way that if you connect them, they form the big dipper constellation. I knew from early on I wanted to include it somewhere in the design and that idea was only reinforced when I saw the constellation on the LED screens when they sang Please
This pin features the following , some are more easter egg than others:
- The Arirang logo at the top
- 7 Mugunghwa flowers at the bottom in red (to align with the arirang color scheme)
- Two circles based off the stage
- The center circle has the lyrics of Into the Sun
- Big dipper as the central focal point
